15 Tips on Winter Wedding

Winter is a nice season to get married. If you plan a winter wedding, make sure you have enough warmth in the venue with electrical heaters or traditional fire places and people do not end up shivering.
  • Set the color tone of your wedding as white, blush pink or silver. This would perfectly resemble the weather.
  • Choose winter season flowers like amaryllis, calla lilies, white hydrangeas, etc. Combine these white flowers with some green herbs and they would make amazing flowers arrangement in vases and bouquets.
  • For the decoration, you can create an icy look; for instance, icy flower vases with tall dry branches
  • Get the traditional white vanilla cake with three tiers with a slightly modified look. Sprinkle it with silver colored edible sugar. This would give it a snow like appearance and this is best for winter wedding cakes.
  • The winter wedding menu should be perfect with soups and salads. Add fresh seasonal veggies and fruits in the salad like walnuts, cranberries and pears.
  • You can afford to have slightly heavy menu in winters like cheese and potato based starters
  • However, if you are health conscious you can choose mushrooms, bell peppers and egg plants tossed in olive oil
  • It is a good idea to serve the guest with some chocolates or hot chocolate or cocoa with small breadcrumbs
  • Let the caterers pass on plates of breadcrumbs with cheese, spaghetti and meatballs or tomato bisque with triangular cheesy bites
  • For the cake you can make all the seasonal winter flowers of sugar and decorate it
  • You can use plenty of silk in your fabric for the wedding gown and dresses for the bridesmaid
  • As far as bridesmaids are concerned, you can experiment with bright colors
  • You can opt for strapless or short dresses but make sure you or any of the bridesmaids do not freeze with cold
  • Greet the guests inside as they enter the venue. Make sure none of them are left outside shivering in cold while you meet the other guests.
  • As far as the bride’s makeup is concerned, moisturize the skin perfectly before applying any makeup as the skin tends to dry faster in winters.
  • With these and some more precautions, clear ideas and a planned budget you can have a winter wedding of your dreams.
